Since I belong to the former, reading the book was like taking foundation lessons of sorts in the very often complicated topic of PolymerChemistry, and getting lifted from the stage of monomers joining to formpolymers, to the high tech process of the application of polymers intextile, food and rubber industries, etc. It also talks extensively aboutnatural and artificial polymers, basic and modern methods ofpolymerization, depolymerization, properties of polymers, economicimportance of polymers, etc. You will hardly find a book, which enumeratesthe products of addition and condensation polymerization like PolymerScience, and Technology does. The lucidity of this text brings to the forethe author's primary skill of teaching. Polymer Science and Technology is amust-have for the student or industry practitioner wanting to makereferences and learn without having to be an "A" student inOrganic Chemistry.
