(More customer reviews)This is a fantastic book for the professional seeking a compact book on diabetes. I came to this conclusion based on the fact that it covers everything I needed to know concerning this disease. Just to cover the tip of the ice berg this book covers diabetes: epidemiology, pathophysiology of type 1 and type 2, chapter on insulin resistance, nutritional management, diabetic management, hypoglycemia, Hyperglycemic Hyperosmolar Syndrome, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, pregnancy induced diabetes, and much MUCH more. This book is a wealth of knowledge concerning the field of diabetes. I have found it very informative in explaining everything from the basics of insulin resistance, as well as being informative on in depth subjects on this disease. I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 based only on it's disregard for readers who are new to their profession, and don't have MD following their name. But even with that draw back I can honestly recommend this book to anyone looking to obtain information on this disease. This book really is a wealth of knowledge.
