Pediatric Urology (Current Clinical Urology) Review

Pediatric Urology
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
THIS 2ND EDITION OF THE EXTREMELY POPULAR FIRST EDITION CLEARLY EXCEEDS THE FIRST.THE ART IS BETTER, THE PRINT EASIER TO READ, AND THE SIZE IS MANAGEABLE FOR THE RESIDENT OR FACULTY WHO PURCHASE THIS BOOK.WHILE OTHER BOOKS ABOUND THAT ARE COSTLIER, BULKIER THEY DO NOT HAVE AUTHORS OF SUCH PROMINENCE IN THE FIELD.EDITED BY THREE OF THE WORLD'S WELL KNOWN LEADERS IN PAEDAITRIC UROLOGY, ONE COULD EASILYSEE WHY PAEDAITRIC UROLOGISTS WOULD BUY THIS AT ITS REASONABLE PRICE VERSUS CAMPBELL-WALSH'S FOUR VOLUME EDITION OR THE REDUX OF KELALIS AND KING PUBLISHED IN 2007. I SUSPECT THAT ONE DAY CAMPBELL-WALSH WILL DROP PAEDAITRICS WITH THE BOOM IN ADULT UROLOGY AND ENDOUROLOGY AND USE THIS TREATISE AS A COMPLEMENTARY TEXT FOR THE PAEDAITRIC UROLOGISTS.

The SAGES Manual: Fundamentals of Laparoscopy, Thoracoscopy and GI Endoscopy Review

The SAGES Manual: Fundamentals of Laparoscopy, Thoracoscopy and GI Endoscopy
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A great debt is owed to SAGES for the publication of this book. There is no other resource quite like it. It truly is "the bible" for anyone who performs laparoscopic surgery. Although there will always be different nuances in surgical technique, this is a wonderful starting point for begining laparoscopists.
Heavy on technical information; light on pictures.

Nurse's Manual of Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests Review

Nurse's Manual of Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Like the title says, it gets the job done, but only if you have the time to sit down and dig through it.Not for on the fly interpretation of results.I used it for my care plans and even then it was hard to deal with.I encountered trouble deciphering the casues/effects of many tests and ended up borrowing another book which I found more helpful.

Peripheral Nerve Blocks: A Color Atlas Review

Peripheral Nerve Blocks: A Color Atlas
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a very clear atlas with nice illustrations of classic blocks. It is more helpful in the Anesthesia setting than for Pain Management. There are very few blocks for the neck, none for the head. This would not help a Pain Management Specialist, but is a tremendous help in the O.R. setting.

Medical Pharmacology at a Glance Review

Medical Pharmacology at a Glance
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was recommended this book by a former student of Dr. Neal's and after one perusal, I was hooked. It has since become my favorite medical textbook. It is so elegant and enjoyable to read that it is hardly like studying at all.The diagrams are particularly impressive, with each consolidating the equivalent of many wordy pages in the average pharmacology textbook. It is perfect when taking a medical pharmacology course, to be read "first and last" for each topic. If you're a visual learner, this one's for you.

Lachman's Case Studies in Anatomy (Lachman's Case Studies in Anatomy (Cahill)) Review

Lachman's Case Studies in Anatomy)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was going through the books I used to study for step 1, thinking about which ones I would like to sell and which ones I should keep.I've decided to keep this one. It's very informative. It presents a case description, then has a question and answer discussion section. There are numerous drawings.I have the 4th edition, which includes 50 cases separated into the following sections: head and neck, back, thorax, abdomen, pelvis and perineum, upper limb, lower limb, and an appendix with the title: "peripheral anatomy of visceral reflexes".I would recommed this for any medical student interested in going into an anatomically focused specialty (i.e. surgery, PM&R, etc.)
